Q: How do I replace the rear blinker bulb in 1998 GMC Yukon?
Okay, for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to change the rear blinker bulb in my Yukon. I’ve already bought the bulb, but I can’t figure out how to get the plastic light encasing off. Does anyone else have a GMC Yukon?

A: Open hatch inside the hinge area there are two torx 15 screws remove them and rotate the lens assembly outward

Q: How reliable is a 2000 GMC yukon with 209,000 miles on it?
I see a gmc yukon xl for $6,400.Is that a good deal and how much longer could i go with out major repairs.

A: As with any used car, this one is only as good as the maintenance it has received from previous owners. The price seems about right for a 2000 4×4 Yukon, and if it was treated properly and maintained according to the manufacturer’s suggested maintenance program, the truck may be good for thousands of trouble-free miles… Or the engine or trans could explode tomorrow. You never can tell with used cars.

Personally, I don’t think I would spend that much money on a 10-year old used car with that many miles showing on the odometer.

A: Can it be done? Sure
Can it be done economically? Probably not

Ever wonder why all electric vehicles are small, sub-compacts? Because they’re not big and heavy like the Yukon. You’d have to have strong electric motors for the drive system and enough batteries to power the motors.

Q: Is the 1999 GMC Yukon passenger door glued on and if so how do you replace it?
I need to replace the passenger side door….it was hit, however I heard that GMC Yukon doors are “glued” shut and it was not as easy as replacing a door on another type of autos.

A: the Hinges are Welded but you shound be abel to remove the Hinge pin allowing the door to be removed .

Q: How do I calibrate the outside air temperature display on my 2002 GMC Yukon?
On my 2002 GMC Yukon, my outside air temperature display on my rearview mirror is off by about 2 degrees. How do you calibrate the temperature?

A: as far as I know, it’s not adjustable and it could be off because of a worn out temp sensor. I have the same truck with flex fuel 5.3. love it and my temp is off 1° but then again how do you know what your comparing it to, is accurate?

Q: Should i get my GMC Yukon serviced since im approaching 100k miles?
I have a 1997 GMC Yukon and its about to hit 95k, should i get it serviced (100k miles service) when im do for my oil change in about 1k miles?

What does the 100k Miles service consist of?
Also, how much does it cost and should it be done by GMC?

A: air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap, rotor, rotate tires, aliginment, brakes, new trans fluid, new oil filter(thats a givin), pcv filter/ valve. mabey get the fuel injectors cleaned

you should be able to do the first 6 yourself and save $180

the trans flush runs around $100
the pcv valve I wouldnt know the cost for that, but if its easy to get to prob $15
and fuel injectors I wouldnt know, $150?

Just had the brake pads and rotors replaced so how much will it cost to replace the two front wheel bearings on a 2001 GMC Yukon

A: if it is 4 wheel drive and has abs brakes it could get very exspensive, 2hours labour and maybe around 350 .00 dollars a bearing. approximatly

Q: What should i get a, 02 Toyota Sequoia or 05 GMC Yukon XL?
I can get a 2002 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4WD and a 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 4WD for 8500$ USD.

The Sequoia has 108k miles and the Yukon has 122k miles. They also do the same gas milage. Now I like size, the bigger the better so i am leaning towards the Yukon but my dad wants me to get the Sequoia. Overall which of these two SUVs should i get?

A: I look at the overall vehicle and compare maintenance as well as repair cost and the GMC Yukon would be the better bet in the long run…plus the engines in the GMC Yukon are easier to work on.

Q: How to install an antenna in a 2000 GMC Yukon?
I brought my 2000 GMC Yukon through a car wash and my antenna snapped off. I went to a GM dealership and was quoted just under 300 dollars which seems way out of whack to replace an antenna. You can’t just go to wal-mart and a get an antenna and screw it on, the whole wiring harness needs to be replaced. Any info would be great!

A: pay $300 or find the schematics online at chiltons www.autoparts.com it will tell you how to do it. You can go to a junkyard and buy the piece. Or google GMC trucks and there will be a how-to section.

Q: When will the body style change for the GMC yukon and Chevy tahoe?
does anyone know what year the body style will change for GMC yukon and Chevy tahoe? I was thinking about getting a new suv. I didn’t know if the style was going to change soon. Maybe I should wait.

A: Yes, it will change once they are out of business in the next few weeks. It will be the new invisible body style. Chrysler will have the same thing and all of the invisible UAW workers will build them. The hardest part will be finding one on a invisible dealership lot

Q: Where can I get inside door lights for a 2001 GMC Yukon?
I have a 2001 GMC Yukon regular cab. And on each of the doors there is a door light that turns on and off when you open and shut the doors. A quarter of the light’s lens is red and the rest is white. 3 of the 4 lenses covering the lights have fallen off. Where can I buy these?
I need the lense and everything. EBay doesn’t have it

A: Should be able to find them in your local wrecking yard. Last resort would be the dealer.

That’s the air intake, and it only costs like $340 which I can afford, I just wanna know will it increase the acceleration speed or horsepower of my truck, and should I get it?

A: Nothing noticeable, except a lighter wallet. There are better things to spend your money on. More than likely any effect you see will be perceived or imagined similar to the placebo effect.

Q: What’s a good, safe highway cruising speed for a Class A motor home that’s towing a GMC Yukon?
We are renting a 2003 Forrest River Georgetown 34’ Class A motor home for a road trip. So I can better plan for the drive, what is the average highway crusing speed I should count on if we’re towing a GMC Yukon behind it? Thanks in advance for your help.

A: I have a 2000 Monaco Diplomat Diesel and I pull my 2002 Gmc SIERRA 2500HD which weighs 6000lbs and I can go just as fast as the cars and diesel trucks around me. But if yours has a Gas engine, dosent have air ride, dosent have air brakes then be more cautious because they aren’t quite as nimble. Hope this helps!

Q: is the mileage on a 2002 gmc yukon saved in odometer or computer?
I have a 2002 gmc yukon xl and the odometer quit working if i put a used instrument cluster in it will it show the mileage from my truck or the truck the instrument clustercame from?

A: Hello John. The mileage information is stored in the original cluster. I have not replaced a cluster with a used cluster, but the swap may work. I have done it with factory radio units. If the part number of the used cluster is the same as the original, the tech may be able to call GM Techline and reprogram the new “used” cluster w/ the original’s information. If you install a cluster from another vehicle (the cluster is VIN specific), then no, the new “used” cluster will show the information from the vehicle it was taken from (if any information is shown at all). The vehicle needs to be taken to a reputable GM service dept. If the part numbers from the back cover of the clusters match, I believe the swap can be done. Like I typed previously, I have not performed this particular procedure, but that does not mean it will not work. You will have to ask your dealership. Talk to the service manager, not the advisors. They believe they are knowledgeable, but only because of what we tell them. Peace.
