Ive recently driven a lexus es 300 1995 because my benz wouldn’t start, and I was amazed at how nice this car drove. in my opinion its nicer then my Mercedes.

and im thinking of selling my benz to get the newer lexus and was wondering how different the 95 was compared to the 1999. because in my opinion the 95 was perfect.

A: If you liked the 95, you’d like the 99 for sure. It’s sleeker overall, just a little bit longer, and actually a little lighter, too. It has about 10hp more, too. Electroluminescent gauges, more airbags (and 2nd generation airbags, at that), and some other extra options and safety/theft features. There’s an optional “active suspension” on the ‘99, sposta improve the ride some.

Just a hint, maybe consider a 2000 ES300… they had xenon headlights and auto-dimming mirrors available, and some minor “facelifts” with the headlights and taillights.

Q: Does the theft deterrent system on a Lexus ES have a specific name?
I recently purchased a 2004 Lexus ES 330 and I am in the process of getting insurance. As on all ES 330 there is a factory installed theft deterrent system. On the insurance application it asks what is the name of the theft deterrent system. This is for a discount.

A: I dont think they give discounts on that kind of alarm..

Does anyone have a ballpark cost to install heated seats and a quality leather interior in a 2002 Lexus ES 300? I’m considering purchasing one, but the current upholstery is cloth, and I would really prefer leather in this type of car.

I am considering making an offer for the car, minus the cost of this interior upgrade.

My uncle recently gave my parents his old Lexus ES 300. Sadly, the child lock is still on. How exactly am i supposed to turn it off?

A: open the back door. look on the door where it meets the car when closed. there is a little black switch that says child lock. flip it to the unlock position. You can always refer to the owners manual if you got it with the car.

what is the difference between a 1994 lexus es 300 and gs 300 and what’s a good selling price and milage wise?? I’m thinking of buying a used car but don’t know anything about Lexus. Are they good cars?

A: The ES uses a Camry sourced 3.0 V6 and is more family oriented. It is essentially a more upmarket Camry.

The GS uses a 3.0 Straight 6 cylinder that is borrowed from the Supra and saw action in the IS300 as well. It is sportier and has more power. It is also rear wheel drive, where as the ES is front wheel drive.

Overall, both are good cars that rarely break down. There are still plenty of them on the roads and they have reputations for running well into the 200k mileage territory.

A: You have a misfire that is causing damage to the Catalytic Converter. When the Check Engine Light blinks, it means there is condition present which could cause Converter Damage or Failure.

A: Good cars. Their made by toyota so you shouldnt have any major problems. Should get good mpg and have nice interior too.
The insurance will be decent on it because its 8 years old

Q: What is the difference between a Lexus ES 300 and an ES 330?
I’m looking at picking up a used Lexus and I’m just not sure what the difference is between the two.

A: The engine is the only difference. The ES300 has a 3.0L V6 and the ES330 has a 3.3L V6. The ES330 produces 225hp and 240 lb-ft of torque and gets 20mpg city, 29mpg highway. The ES300 produces 210hp and 220lb-ft of torque and gets 21mpg city, 29mpg highway. Both are mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Just introduced is the new ES350 which has a 3.5L V6 producing over 260hp.

I am considering buying a lexus es 350. does it take regular fuel. IF it does will it degrade the performance?

A: I drive an LS and a GS and use regular fuel in both (the GS450h has the same V6 as the ES). I have no problems with either car. Modern engines and computers pretty much take care of any preignitiion (knock). Don’t waste your money on premium fuel; I doubt that without sophisticated test equipment you would ever be able to notice a difference in fuel economy or performance. Others swear that you can. I am a non believer.
