I was wondering if anyone has owned/owns/knows someone who owns a mini cooper? Pros? Cons? Is it really as good on gas as it is made out to be? Thanks! 
A: Great on gas. It gets up to 39mpg highway.
The Mini Cooper S gets up to 36mpg highway.
They are very fun to drive. One of the most fun cars you can buy and some of the best handling cars you can buy for that price.
Not so practical because of the ultra tiny trunk.
Reliability is average. Not as great as Japanese cars. Better than other British cars and American cars.
It requires premium gas so that is a CON. And maintenance is expensive.

I’m looking for my first car and I was wondering if the MINI Cooper was a good buy. My main concern is that I would look funny driving it. I am a 5′11, 19 year old girl. I don’t want to look like a clown getting out of a clown car.

Get one. They’re safer than most cars and all SUV’s, nimble, quick, and a blast to drive. Engineered by BMW, quite reliable. Perfect cars for “You-ification.” meaning customizing or modding it to suit you.

Q: How does the Mini Cooper do in the snow?
I’m really excited about getting a Mini Cooper S but my husband was just relocated to a place where it snows. It doesn’t snow so much that I would be constantly driving on snowy streets, but it would probably happen between 1 – 10 times during the winter, and my commute wouldn’t be every far to and from work. Does anyone who has first-hand experience with the Mini know how well it does in snow? Are a good set of snow tires going to be enough? Thanks!
A: MINIs do fairly well in the snow. For areas with frequent snowfall, snow tires will make a big difference. More agressive tread, a narrower footprint and a better cold rubber compound help very much.

A: I got some experience in this subject. If the scratch wasn’t light it’s going to need a full clear coat, paint and primer job. this does not include matching the color if is metallic shade which might required extra $$$ and time. everyting depends on the lenght of the scratch. You might be looking arond $800.00.
I stop paying for scratch repairs after the 3rd. one and do it at home which is not complicated at all. But you do need practice first.

A: You won’t buy anything new for $11,000. There is not much in the same category as a Mini but Volkswagen Golf or New Beetle, Mazda Miata or Honda Civic Coupe might be alternatives.

A: mini coopers are great cars. they are built by bmw and, like any car, require regular maintenance. brakes are about $350 – $380 per axle parts and labor. major service is about $360.

I have been wanting a mini cooper (convertible) for awhile, but it may still be awhile before I actually get one. I’m not as much interested in the stat difference between the two, but moreso the required maintenance. A: There’s no difference in the maintenance. Same oil changes, filter changes and such.
